New Favorite Sandwich

I have a new favorite sandwich - the classic Italian caprese. I first had one about a month ago in Leicester, England when I was by myself, feeling sick, and wanting something for lunch other than pub grub and a beer. So now I am hooked. I use fresh basil from my garden and a skinny French baguette. Very tasty. I am trying to learn to like raw tomatoes since they are very good for you and everyone seems to rave about homegrown tomatoes. They will be one of the first things I try to grow once I get my vegetable garden going. My basil has started its second season now that that fall is here and the humidity is gone. The weather is perfect right now and it is hard to decide which season is better here - spring or fall. After working hard in the yard yesterday, we made bbq pork ribs in the oven with a homemade sauce. The homemade sauce was excellent but the pork tasted funny. Maybe it is because we don't eat meat much anymore that we have forgotten what it tastes like, or maybe it is because the meat was bad. Fortunately neither of us got sick! We went sailing this afternoon after doing the grocery shopping. We weren't expecting much wind according to the forecast but once we were out there we had a bit of a breeze and were able to unfurl the sails and make some headway. Andrew went for a swim afterwards at the clubhouse beach - he said the water is still warm and so he hopes he can still swim all month.
